Mystery shopping

Mystery shopping, or mock purchasing, is a market research method which imitates the purchase of a product or service from the perspective of the buyer.

Mystery shopping produces information about the general conditions which a buyer or prospective buyer comes across when making a purchase or receiving guidance.

The general aim of mystery shopping is to increase sales. In order to achieve this, the quality of the sale must be improved or maintained at a consistent high level.
